What are Phat Buoys?

The Phat Buoys are men who, through sailing and related adventures, have become good friends. They live in three countries on two continents in the northern hemisphere. It is no exaggeration to say that they are separated by thousands of kilometres. Yet, once each year, they overcome distance and other barriers to sail together. The sailing, often challenging, is an opportunity to deepen friendships, see phat ("cool") places, do phat things and be a Phat Buoy.

The Phat Buoys simply would not exist were it not for the understanding, support (and permission?) of Joan, Heather, Sheena, Branka, Mel, Heather and Christine. For this and innumerable other reasons, they have the Phat Buoy's undieing love and gratitude.

The Phat Buoys are fortunate to have a unique blend of skills, perspectives, experiences and personalities, all of which serve to promote the group's dynamics, enjoyment, performance and achievement. Their camarderie and conviviality has been known to be infectious
